Šibenik 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week Starts

ZAGREB, May 22, 2018 – The sailing event of the year in Croatia, Šibenik 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week, started in the city’s D-Marin Mandalina marina on Monday with the christening of the sailboat “Azzurra”.

The Azzurra, owned by Argentinian businessman Pablo Roemmers, was christened by Princess Zahra Aga Khan, the eldest daughter of Aga Khan IV.

The event was attended by Jakov Kitarović, the husband of President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović under whose auspices TP52 Super Series regattas are held in Croatia, presidential envoy Tomislav Madžar, local officials and owners of the competing teams.

The regatta starts on Wednesday and competing are the great names of world sailing such as five-time Olympic winner Robert Scheidt, Santiago Lange of Argentina and America’s Cup regular participants Dean Barker and James Spithill.
