Sergej Jakirović’s team celebrated with wonderful goals by Petar Sučić in the 28th minute, Martin Baturina in the 42nd minute and Marko Bulat in the 80th minute. The honorary goal for Rijeka was scored by Toni Fruk in the 91st minute.
Despite the result, Rijeka opened the game well. Already in the 3rd minute, Ivan Nevistić was forced to save a shot by Toni Fruk. In the 16th minute, Stjepan Radeljić headed over the goal from a corner. Dinamo had trouble getting into Rijeka’s half, and in the 24th minute, they had their first shot thanks to Bruno Petković.
However, four minutes later, a wonderful play by Dinamo resulted in a goal. Petković found Hoxha, who saw Sučić on the right side. The young Dinamo midfielder nailed the far post for 0-1.
The goal shattered Rijeka’s rhythm, and Dinamo had two more chances in the 32nd and 40th minutes. In the 42nd minute, it was over for Rijeka. After another quick action by Dinamo, Hoxha again received the ball on the left side and passed to Baturina, who hit the corner with a precise shot from 18 meters. It was 0-2.
Rijeka needed three goals at that moment due to the away goal rule. Their best chance was in the 54th minute when Obregon headed over the goal. As the match drew to a close, Dinamo had even more chances.
Alas, there was no salvation for Rijeka in the 80th minute. Petković played Bulat who scored to confirm Dinamo’s victory. The honorary goal for Rijeka was scored by Toni Fruk with a beautiful free kick in the 91st minute.
