November 15, 2018 – Croatia still has a shot in the UEFA Nations League after an incredible last minute win against Spain in Zagreb.

The Croatia national football team could still make the ‘Final Four’ of the premiere season of the Nations League after a promising win against Spain at Maksimir stadium in front of over 32,000 fans, reports Gol.hr on November 15, 2018.

While the first half went without goals, Croatia took the lead three times in the second, though Spain was quick to equalize after the first two goals. Andrej Kramarić was the first to score for Croatia in the 54th minute, but just two minutes later, Spain’s Ceballos came back for 1:1.

Croatia’s second goal came from a Tin Jedvaj header in the 69th, but a Spain penalty just 10 minutes later brought the game back to a draw once again. Real Madrid superstar Sergio Ramos had no problem finding the back of the net for 2:2.

However, it was Croatia who had the last laugh.

In the final minutes of the match, Croatian hero Tin Jedvaj came back with another goal for 3:2 and the win! Maksimir erupted into celebration, and it was a moment Croatian football fans will remember for a lifetime.

After three games played in the Nations League, Croatia has four points and thus remains in the fight for first place. While Spain has six points, they have finished their games in the group stage. England, who Croatia will face at Wembley on Sunday, is now tied with Croatia at four points.

Recall, Croatia failed to score a single goal in their first two appearances in the Nations League and had achieved only one point in front of empty stands at Rujevica against England last month. Back in September, Croatia recorded their worst defeat in history after losing 0:6 to Spain in Elche.

Both Croatia and England will be looking for the win on Sunday, which will take them to the desired ‘Final Four’ of the tournament.

Yet another incredible spectacle awaits in London this weekend.
