A new adventure race in Dalmatia is announced on February 10, 2016, with a spectacular video highlighting the region’s cultural and adventure tourism potential – meet Dalmatia Ultra Trail.
On the day TCN interviewed one of the pioneers of adventure tourism in Croatia, a totally unrelated announcement put the region’s adventure tourism potential into one of the best videos about Dalmatia ever produced, as a new adventure race was announced. In the words of the organisers:
“Dalmatia Ultra Trail race will be held from 21. to 23.10.2016. in Dalmatia in the following categories:
165 km – start from Omiš
110 km – start from Klis
60 km – start from Baška voda
20 km – start from Dugi rat
“The race passes through the most attractive natural, cultural and historical areas of central Dalmatia.”
Now watch the video – adventure Dalmatia at its finest, and something which should be a catalyst for Croatia to diversify its tourism away from the beach, as well as prolong the season.
And while Dalmatia has become known as the home of the Ultra Europe music festival, could the Dalmatia Ultra Trail turn into the ultra destination for athletes?
