Croatia has become the world champion in water polo after defeating Hungary 8:6
The Croatian men’s water polo team won the title of world champion yesterday at the 17th FINA World Championships held in Budapest.
Zagreb mayor Milan Bandić watched the game from the first row.
“What a glorious victory and spectacular success – winning the world championship after ten years is the proof of the new extraordinary generation of players who can be proud of their great sportsmanship, exceptional talent, powerful energy and togetherness. Sincere congratulations to the players, head coach and coaching staff,” said the mayor in a congratulatory message he has sent after the exciting match.
