This kind of success had yet to be achieved until now, reports Dalmacija Danas.

For the third time in her sports career, Helena Jurišić won gold in the seniors category up to 75 kg. Jurišić became the world champion for the third time in a row, making her the most famous Croatian Thai boxer. Lucija Bilobrk won gold in the plus 75 category, and Ivan Bertić won the gold in the junior-senior category up to 91 kg. Vito Košar won the silver as a member of the U23 national team, and Vito Stojčić won the bronze.

Seniors Toni Ćatipović and Petar Drežnjak also brought home a bronze medal.

“Croatia competed with nine Thai boxers who won a total of seven medals and thus took a high sixth place in the overall standings, which is a great success in 30 years of Thai boxing in Croatia,” said Dario Jurišić, known as a coach who creates champions.

In the competition of 80 countries around the world and over 1000 competitors, the small and powerful Croatia came sixth in the overall standings. The harvest of medals results from the dedicated work of the entire team of professionals, coaches, and leadership of the Federation, led by President Mario Franić.

“Croats bring home three gold medals; two go to Split, one to Zagreb. One silver medal also goes to Zagreb. Petar Drežnjak, Toni Čatipović and Vito Stojčić also bring three bronze medals to Split,” Jurišić said for Dalmacija Danas.

Franić and the leader Siniša Andrijašević are delighted with the success of the national team and the atmosphere in the group. A spectacular welcome reception was prepared at the airport today for the winners.
