Croatia Beats Serbia for World Water Polo Champs Semi-final in Doha!

February 13, 2024 – The Croatia water polo team beat Serbia in the quarter-finals of the World Championship semi-finals in Doha to advance to the semi-finals!

The game was neck and neck until the final quarter when Croatia finally escaped to a two-goal lead and celebrated 15:13.

Croatia was led by Loren Fatović with four goals, while Marko Žuvela and Rino Burić scored three goals each, and Konstantin Harkov scored two. Marko Bijač made ten saves and saved two penalties in the second half. The top scorer for Serbia was Strahinja Rašović with three goals.

This will be Croatia’s eighth appearance in the semi-finals at the World Water Polo Championships. For a spot in the final, they will play against the winner of Hungary and France.

The first semi-final pair includes the national teams of Spain and Italy. In the quarter-finals, Spain defeated Montenegro 15:12, and Italy beat Greece 11:10. The semi-final matches are scheduled for Thursday, February 15.
