Looking for some entertainment away from Euro 2016? Help is at hand on June 11, 2016 with the Ludbreg Wine Marathon.
The more I travel around Croatia, the more I am impressed. Innovative ideas that rarely make the headlines are all over this country. People with great ideas to improve their communities and tourism in general.
One of the places that left a particular mark of appreciation on me recently was Ludbreg, a rather sensational little town tucked away in Varazdin County (you can read my trip impressions here – incredible place). One of the things that struck me on that day was the pride that the local winemakers had taken in both their wineries and their attempts to create a wine road and wine tourism. Here, in little Ludbreg, the town will celebrate six years of its wine road tomorrow, at a time when all Dalmatia is yet to open an official one.
And what better way to celebrate a birthday than with a wine marathon?
A special day tomorrow in Ludbreg if you are in the area as the second Ludbreg Wine Marathon will take place, a chance to sample the considerable delights of the local winemakers, and all for just 50 kuna. Never run a marathon before? This is the perfect place to start! And your 50 kuna entrance fee goes a long way – entrance into six wineries (your glass is provided) where you will be able to sample three wines in each establishment.

Ludbreška vinska cesta slavi 6. rođendan! 🙂
U suradnji s Udrugom vinogradara Trsek ove godine organiziramo 2. Vinski maraton i Dan ludbreškog vinogorja. Cilj maratona je da posjetitellji prepoznaju ljepote ludbreškog vinogorja i vina koja se tamo rađaju.
Vinski maraton započinje 11.6.2016. godine u 12 sati i završava u 19 sati. Tada će svi objekti (Restoran / kušaona ‘Arabela’ Globočec, Vinski podrum ‘Makar’, Vinska kuća ‘Kirić’, Restoran ‘Črn-bel’, Vinarija ‘Stručić’ i Kušaona ‘Kežman’) na vinskoj cesti biti otvoreni i čekati drage maratonce.
Kupnjom vinske putovnice (50 kuna) dobivate:
• čašu
• torbicu oko vrata
• startni broj
• pravo na degustaciju 3 vrste vina u svakoj kući
• te sudjelovanje u nagradnoj igri (ako prođete svih 6
objekata i sakupite potvrde).
Po završetku maratona druženje se nastavlja kod kipa sv. Vinka. Tamo Vas očekuju članovi udruge Trsek sa zabavnim programom, goričkim delicijama i sa dobrom voljom.
