Five Boys Clean Up Seabed in Dubrovnik

Total Croatia News

Proof you just need some good will and a bit of your time to make a difference.

You already know we’re fans of beach cleanups and taking care of the environment. We’re delighted by every action, no matter how small – when you put even the tiniest efforts together, you end up with a cleaner coast, and that’s a win in our book.

What makes us even happier is when those cleanup actions are initiated by the youngest eco-conscious citizens. An inspiring story comes from Dubrovnik, where a group of five boys living at Babin kuk decided to take matters into their own hands and clean the seabed in the area where they most often go for a swim.

They focused on the area where they could reach the bottom of the sea without any serious diving equipment – they put on some masks, held their breath and set off to rid the waters of old tires, plastic and other discarded garbage.

The lads are more than deserving of their names being noted: Bruno Đuho, Antun Kljunak, Ivan Pavao Bulić, Nikola Đuho and Marko Dužević. Together they raised an impressive amount of waste out of the sea; judging by the photo, there were 20 tires and countless plastic bottles.

Bravo, boys! The rest of us can only follow your example.
