The initiative is a continuation of the “Visit Slavonia, Share Slavonia” project.
The Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) has launched the second part of the highly-acclaimed “Visit Slavonia, Share Slavonia” promotional campaign. The project is focused on blogs and social networks such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Slavonia, its tourist destinations, customs and cuisine will be experienced in the next few days by popular bloggers and influencers from Germany, Poland, Great Britain, France, Macedonia, Croatia, Australia and Japan. The project also involves local tourist boards in Slavonia and the tourist board of Zagreb, where the influencers started their stay in Croatia, reports Večernji List on September 4, 2018.
“After a fantastic campaign in which promotional posts related to Slavonia were seen daily by more than a million fans around the world, we have decided to bring popular influencers and bloggers to those parts of Slavonia which were not included in the first part of the campaign. In this way, we will present the tourist offer of inland Croatia, especially Slavonia, which has great potential for the development of all-year tourism,” said director of the Croatian National Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić, adding that they would continue to promote the continental tourist offer, especially in the pre-season and post-season periods.
The “Visit Slavonia, Share Slavonia” programme includes Sophia Giesecke, a dreamer, globetrotter, designer and blogger. She is originally from China and Vietnam, and her second home is New York, where she studied fashion design. Her blog is very popular and brings new trends in travel and fashion. Wojciech Tylus from Poland will return to Slavonia. Together with his wife, he writes the CroLove blog, which is entirely devoted to Croatia and has more than 150,000 weekly visits. The writers have a large number of fans on social networks where they promote the best of Croatia, which they consider to be their second homeland. Arthur and Claire from France write the very popular Les Droners blog and are very active on Instagram.
The travel programme began in Zagreb, where bloggers were introduced to the history and sights of the Croatian capital. The five-day stay in Slavonia starts in Virovitica-Podravina County, where the programme includes a tour of the Papuk Nature Park and the Jankovec excursion site, as well as a visit to the “Drava Story” visitor centre in Noskovačka Dubrava. The itinerary includes a bicycle tour on the EuroVelo 13 route and a visit to the locality of Rupnica, the first geological nature monument in Croatia.
The program of the second day of the visit to Slavonia includes a tour of Požega-Slavonia County, where bloggers will have the opportunity to visit the Duboka campsite located at the edge of the Papuk Nature Park. There is also a scheduled visit to the Kutjevo winery, including wine tasting, a tour of Požega accompanied by a professional tour guide, and a visit to the tourist attraction the Maize Labyrinth, located in Viškovci, halfway between Pleternica and Požega. During the third day, the blogging team will visit Brod-Posavina County, where they will enjoy various activities, such as horse riding on the Ramarin ranch, wine tasting at the Opođe family farm, and a tour of the Brod Fort and Stara Kapela eco-ethno village.
The itinerary also includes a tour of Osijek-Baranja County, the town of Đakovo, a visit to the Đakovo stables and the localities around the Borovik Lake. During a stay in Vukovar-Srijem County, the influencers will be introduced to the history of Vinkovci and Županja, and will also take part in this year’s Vinkovačke Jeseni festival.
The project can be followed on social networks with hashtags #VisitSlavonia and #ShareSlavonia.
