An old school in Tisno can soon turn into a four-star hotel, thanks to changes in the spatial planning of the city, which has been confirmed by the Municipality of Tisno and investor Tedi Slamić – executive director of the company Djelo.
The owner of company Djelo – who owns a chain of stores in Šibenik-Knin County – said that the building was bought from a private owner with the intention of building apartments. But when they learned that the building fit into the new city planning of Tisno, they began thinking of the possibility of a luxury hotel with 70 to 80 beds, reports Poslovni.hr on January 30, 2017.
“Shortly after we bought the building and received insight into the plan for Trg Rudina, we saw that our plans fit into the vision for the development of the Municipality of Tisno which encourages the hotel industry as a way to extend the tourist season. This is an investment worth between 25 and 30 million kuna and we believe that it will be partly covered with money from European funds,” says Tedi Slamić.
The old school will retain it’s distinctive look, and for the hotel there is a plan to construct a modern annex with rooms, additional facilities and a swimming pool. Designers are working on the future design of the hotel, and Djelo will collect the necessary documentation so that work can begin by the end of the year.
“We will revise the spatial plan to enable the upgrade, or annexation of the old school, and we have informed the investors. Family hotels are the future, and the plan for investors goes beyond that category, because it should have between 70 and 80 beds. This will significantly boost the Tisno hotel offer and contribute to lengthening the tourist season,” concluded the Mayor of Tisno Ivan Klarin.
