The stunning Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn) beach in Bol on the island of Brač, which is otherwise the third largest island in Croatia and the largest Dalmatian island, is no stranger to being hailed for its unbelievable beauty.
Having found itself listed on seemingly endless lists of the most beautiful beaches in Europe and indeed the whole world, it should come as no surprise that yet another travel page has recognised its unique shape and incredible magnificence.
Croatia boasts many a beautiful beach, but very many of them dotted along this country long and rugged coasline, as well as on its 1,000+ inhabited and uninhabited islands are rocky bays. There are of course numerous exceptions, and one which stands out is that on the southern Dalmatian island of Lopud – Sunj, a rather rare sandy beach.
Others include those in beautiful Tučepi on the popular Makarska riviera, the crowded Banje in Dubrovnik, and Duće near Dugi Rat. The list of beautiful beaches in Croatia stretches on for quite some time, but none attract quite the same amount of international fascination and attention than the magical Zlatni Rat beach, shaped like a horn, in beautiful Bol. The best view of this unusual beach is from above, namely from Vidova gora, the highest peak of the Adriatic archipelago.
As Morski writes on the 31st of July, 2019, the Big 7 Travel page, which is oriented towards travellers, ranked Zlatni Rat beach in Bol on Brač at the very top of the list of the fifty of the world’s most beautiful beaches.
The portal writes:
Zlatni Rat is the most spectacular of all Croatia’s beaches. It’s not just its shape that makes it so beautiful and unique. The pebble beach is surrounded by crystal clear sea, that goes from turquoise blue to dark blue in just 10-20 meters.
Decades-old pine trees provide shade, but you won’t want to get out of the warm waters here. It’s clear to see why this is the best beach in the world for 2019…
Taking 32nd place in this list is another stunning Croatian beach, Jagodna, located on the neighbouring island of Hvar, often referred to as Croatia’s premier island. The portal’s description reads:
Hvar has plenty of picture-perfect beaches, but this especially beautiful cove is a highlight. It’s located between Sveta Nedjelja and Ivan Dolac, and has pebble beaches, crystal clear waters and thick pine forests.
The water is warm and the sand squeaky clean – perfection.
