Olinka Gašparović, who flew from Munich to Split on Tuesday, is the two-millionth passenger for Croatia Airlines in 2018.

At the ceremony at Split Airport on Tuesday, which was held after the plane landed from Munich at 11:40, director of sales and marketing of Croatia Airlines, Boris Kolka, gave the two-millionth passenger two free airline tickets to an international destination of their choice offered by Croatia Airlines. The celebrated passenger was received by Ante Teklić, assistant director of Split Airport, reports T.portal on November 20, 2018.

“The two-millionth passenger this year was recorded 16 days earlier than in 2017 when we transported more than two million passengers in a single year for the first time. In 2018, our airplanes expect more than 2,200,000 passengers, or the largest number of passengers on an annual basis since the beginning of our commercial flights in 1991,” said Boris Kolka, the Director of Sales and Marketing at Croatia Airlines.

From the beginning of the year to date, Croatia Airlines recorded a 3 percent increase in passenger traffic, and during that period, about 52,000 more passengers were transported than in the same period last year.

“We are pleased that the Croatian national carrier welcomed the two-millionth passenger on a flight to Split, in the same year the airport recorded more than 3,000,000 passengers for the first time in history. They are happy with the good results of Croatia Airlines this year, as one of the most important airlines flying to Split Airport, mostly because of its year-round flights, thus connecting Split and Dalmatia with the rest of the world,” said Ante Teklić

This May, nearly 214,000 passengers were transported by Croatia Airlines, which is a record number of passengers in the history of the month.

Croatia Airlines plans to welcome more than 2,200,000 passengers this year, which is the most since the first commercial flight launched in 1991.

The Croatia Airlines fleet consists of 12 aircraft: four Airbus 319 (capacity 144 seats), two Airbus 320 (174 seats) and six Dash 8-Q400 turbocharged aircraft (76 seat capacity).

Croatia Airlines is the Croatian national airline and a member of the Star Alliance.
