ZAGREB, February 23, 2018 – Croatia is the world’s leading destination in terms of unmanned yacht charter, it was said at a round table discussion held as part of the Boat Show at the Zagreb Trade Fair Centre on Friday.
Boško Ercegovac of the Transport Ministry said that 879 yacht charter companies with 4,108 yachts and boats operated in Croatia in 2017, and that they had 75,884 charter contracts, with 478,971 tourists.
In 2017, Croatian marinas registered 18,211 visits by foreign yachts and boats, of which around 7,000 needed berths in the peak tourist season.
Last year, 13,422 vessels were permanently moored, and of that number 11,756 were sea vessels. Ports earned 769 million kuna in revenues from anchoring services.
