Croatian International Seaplane Route Expands: Split to Pescara in Italy

Total Croatia News

More international expansion for European Coastal Airlines, as a second Italian connection is added.

The network is growing. Just weeks after adding the first scheduled international seaplane connection in modern European aviation history, Croatian seaplane operator has added Pescara to its network, according to its official Facebook page on January 6, 2016.

Following on from the initial connection with Ancona from downtown Split and Rijeka Airport, Pescara Airport will be connected to downtown Split, with the inaugural flights scheduled for February 2.  The flight will last just 59 minutes and promotional fares are available for just 29 euro.

Since starting operations in August 2014 with a flight from Resnik near Split Airport to Jelsa on Hvar, the seaplane operator has gradually been expanding its network, slashing travel times along the coast and islands, and enabling tourists to enjoy a true island hopping experience.

With plans to expand to many more destinations, ECA currently flies from Split downtown, Resnik (Split Airport), Zadar Airport, Rijeka Airport, Pula, Jelsa on Hvar, Lastovo, Vela Luka on Korcula, Mali Losinj and Rab, as well as Italian destinations Ancona and Pescara.
