Tourism journalism excellence celebrated in Zagreb at the annual FIJET Marco Polo Awards.
Croatian travel journalists gathered at the National Society of Journalists in Zagreb on December 11, 2015, for the annual FIJET Marko Polo awards, an event attended by Total Croatia News.
FIJET, the international association of professional travel writers and journalists, celebrated its 60th anniversary last year, and is very active in the promotion of tourism worldwide. The 2015 Marco Polo winners:
MARCO POLO foreign journalist award
Maria Parades, an American journalist, for the best travel stories about Hungary, a 2014 host country.
MARCO POLO GRAND PRIX
For the best travel writing published in the book “Climbing is a way of expression”.
MARCO POLO SPECIAL AWARDS
For a series of exceptional television travelogue about Velebit published in 2014.
For a series of exceptional travelogues through the hinterland and along the coast of the Adriatic.
For reports on Croatia and Zagreb published on Croatian Radio “Voice of Croatia” and for outstanding contribution in promoting media activities for FIJET Croatia to the Spanish-speaking world.
For a series of reportages and travelogues in Croatia, and for outstanding contribution in the promotion of activities FIJET Croatian “Glas Slavonia”.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION OF FOREIGN JOURNALISTS
For the best itinerary of Zagreb announced on Radio Novi Sad “Advent in Zagreb”.
For the best promotional film of the 60th Anniversary of FIJET, and the itinerary of the host country FIJET Congress in Hungary, published in the program “Center of the World” TV Novi Sad, as well as for outstanding contribution to the promotion of Croatian in a series of travel accounts published in TV Novi Sad, 2014 and 2015.
