Croatian Burreau of Statistics reveals our travel habits for the fist time
For years we’ve been reading about the spending habits of tourists visiting Croatia, but apart from finding out how many Croats are going skiing every year, we never had the opportunity to read about our actual spending habits. Until yesterday.
According to the report published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics on November 26, 2015, more than 49% of Croats above the age of 15, or 1.8 million in numbers, went on a trip at least once in 2014.

That amounts to 6,6 individual trips, and it is good to hear that 69,5% of those trips were to Croatian destinations (4,6 million in total) while 2 million trips were somewhere overseas. When it comes to overseas destinations, Bosnia and Herzegovina is the most popular travel destination with 12,6% of all trips, Slovenia takes second place with 12,5% followed by Italy with 8,9% and Germany.
In 2014, 371 000 Croats or 10,2% over the age of 15 went on at least a one day business trip. More than 1,5 million business trips were achieved out of which 51,6% was in Croatia and 48,4% somewhere abroad with Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Austria being the most visited countries when it comes to business travel, bureau’s report concludes.
