In the municipality of Vrsar in Istria, Maistra plans to build a golf course named ‘Stancija Grande’ on an area of 100 hectares.

According to the study of environmental impact, the golf course would be on a surface of 100.345 hectares and have 27-holes. The supporting facilities would include a five-star hotel with 300 beds, clubhouse, golf academy, a private facility exclusively for cultural content, and a service center with a nursery, reports HRTurizam on April 10, 2017.

The aim of the project would be to make Vrsar and the wider area a famous tourist destination that offers a unique experience. Until now, Vrsar has only relied on the sale of the sun, sea, and basic accommodation standards without providing a specific or attractive service. This project seeks to implement a diversified tourist, recreational and cultural offer that is geared towards carefully selected groups of guests.

Stancija Grande would not classify into the group of classic “tourist” golf courses. Instead, the landscape, course, hotel, clubhouse and accompanying facilities are designed to maintain the most demanding professional golf competitions organized by the European PGA Tour, which would classify Stancija Grande in the top 100 golf courses in the world. Stancija Grande would be a championship golf course that would also boast the signature of the world famous golfer and golf course designer Jose Maria Olazabal.
