July 12, 2024 – A new development on Krk has opened for the 2024 season next to the biggest-ever tourism investment on the Croatian coast, a former Penthouse palace. Move over Haludovo, hello Malinska Green Apartments.
One of the many surprising things I learned over the years about Croatia was the fascinating story of Haludovo, which in today’s money still remains the biggest investment on the Croatian coast, even though it took place way back in 1972. It was a unique project between Tito and Penthouse, the men’s adult magazine, to open a resort and casino in former Yugoslavia and bring in high-paying guests from around the world. It was the most exclusive resort on the Adriatic.
The project was short-lived, but one thing that has not changed is the location, surrounded by idyllic pine trees overlooking the azure Adriatic.
It is a location that visitors can now enjoy again with the opening of a new complex very close to Haludovo and with access to the same beaches, and Malinksa Green Apartments is a quality addition to Krk tourism.
The 99 apartments and reception area have no neighbours, apart from the flora and fauna which can be found in abundance in the pine forests which surround the complex. Modern Three-bedroom apartment of 77 m2 and a balcony of 12 m2, designed for large families who want maximum comfort. It is located on the 2nd, highest floor of the building and is only accessible by stairs. Each apartment is air-conditioned, has a flat-screen TV with satellite programs, deposit box, telephone and high-speed WI-FI internet.
