A new aquapark for Krk?
On their last meeting, the city council of Krk was discussing, among other relevant issues, the construction of an amusement/aqua park like the one in Gardaland, according to a report in Novilist on July 19, 2015. The investors have aparently, struck a deal with church authorities for a long term concession on the church owned land at the very entrance to Krk town. The total area is 30 hectares but the process of getting all the permits will be lengthy and demanding as it requires changing of already existing urbanistic plan of the town of Krk.
The project is supposed to be designed with Gardaland in mind with numerous open and closed down attractions to attract guests year round.
The council is supportive of the project as that would definitely put the island on the map of popular destinations instead of their current status as a beach destination.
