The famous Martinis Marchi Summer Party will be held this weekend the 4th and 5th of August 2017. This year’s theme is in honour of Ancient Rome and is set to be another spectacular weekend.
Martinis Marchi is a name synonymous with luxury; a highlight destination for sailors and elite clientele, including the most recent celeb – Eva La Rue. Martinis Marchi is a 300-year-old heritage hotel, set in a lush garden and resting directly in front of the marina in Maslinica on the island Šolta. More than just a stop-off on an itinerary, Martinis is often the itinerary. This weekend is one of the highlights of their summer program.
Martinis Marchi has become famous for throwing the best summer party on the Adriatic, always taking place on the first weekend of August. Previous years have seen various themed parties, from Venetian nights with masquerade balls to last year’s Brazilian night in honour of the Rio Olympics. This year the theme is Ancient Rome and it has a line-up of events to entertain, enthral and delight all.

The weekend kicks off on Friday 4th August where guests are invited to come and test out a SEABOB for water enthusiasts, or, if you prefer your land-based luxuries – get behind the wheel of a BMW or check out some vintage cars which will be on display thanks to the Split Old-timer Auto Klub.
Now remember, this is a Roman-themed party, and if the Romans were known for anything (besides fighting), it was their tendency to throw lavish feasts, so you better believe the weekend will contain food and drinks to appease even the most tyrannical Emperor. Friday evening, a casual BBQ will be held in the gardens followed by dancing the night away in the marina Amphitheatre.
Saturday is the main event and will be opened at 1 pm by well-known Brač artist, Ivica Jakšić Čokrić (also known as Puko). His exhibition will be held on the terrace of the Martinis Marchi Restaurant, so start your day feeling like a Roman – appreciating the finer things in life.
During the day, the gardens will be transformed into an ancient venue, and you can witness skills and trades long-since forgotten, like blacksmiths, stonemasons, millers and potters… The sponsors for the weekend will all still be on display, so if you missed Friday, you can still get your adrenaline-fix on the SEABOB or enjoy the luxury and vintage cars. To add even more class, the event is sponsored by Malalan jewelry, SunSeeker and Sotheby’s Luxury Real Estate who will all have their presence felt in various displays of luxury.
Late afternoon means time for cocktails and music before you don your “toga” for the extraordinary evening line-up in the Amphitheatre beginning at 8 pm. The Emperor and his wife will bring their slaves and Gladiators to fight to win the favour of the crowd and ladies of the audience. After the battle, Martinis’ beautiful terrace and gardens will welcome you with a journey through a Roman Feast in all senses of the word – including accompanying harp and flute to set the elegant tone of the evening.
Then, as only Martinis can, the party moves to the poolside area, where a night of surprises await. They have only revealed one of their ‘surprises’ which will be a fashion show from the talented designer Anamarija Asanović, but if previous years are anything to go by, it will be a spectacular night you don’t want to miss out on!
Tickets for the weekend are either 200 euro for both Friday and Saturday, or 160 euro for the main event on Saturday. Ticket prices include dinner, drinks and entry to the exclusive poolside party.

How to get there?
- If you are sailing from Split on Saturday, set your course for Maslinica bay on the island Šolta, where you can dock or anchor.
- Don’t have the luxury of your own yacht? There are ferry lines which run from Split to Šolta daily which you can see here, though you will have to pull an all-nighter or book accommodation and enjoy the charm of Šolta for the weekend (read more about this jewel of an island here).
- Or, arrive in style by organising a group of friends and book an UberBoat.
