The high season is only just starting, and Istria is already breaking personal records in 2017, reports Morski.hr. In the month of June, the county surpassed the 4-million mark in the number of overnight stays, achieving an impressive 37% increase from last year’s 3 million in the same period!
The pre-season was extremely successful, and they’re hoping for the post-season to make similar results as well. After many years of systematic development, great cooperation of the private and the public sector, collective work of all parties participating in preparations for the tourist season and improving the quality of services, all the invested efforts are now paying back.
Istra is proving to be a well-organised tourist destination, with the private sector playing a significant role by creating a diverse, attractive offer and investing in raising accommodation quality. Another important factor are major events like the Rise Up Festival in Poreč, Sea Star Festival in Umag, Swatch Beach Volleyball Major Series and Open Air Festival, all of them bringing a large number of guests to the prestigious region.
Congratulations to Istria on making record numbers – here’s hoping for the rest of the season to be equally successful!
