Ryanair to Cancel Flights From Osijek

Osijek Airport Director Domagoj Marinić has confirmed via telephone the information that low budget airline Ryanair will terminate its flights to and from Osijek

According to his words, Osijek airport has not received any official information from Ryanair, deemed unfair from their side. As soon as they do receive such info, Osijek Airport will make an official statement, Osijek031 reported on January 16, 2017.

The most likely reason for the shutdown of their very popular line is cited by Marinić as a refusal on behalf of Osijek airport to pay subsidies in the form of advertisements on their official website, demanded by Ryanair, despite the fact the Osijek-London line was almost always full.

Marinić reminds that new lines are set to begin in spring by low budget airlines Wizzair to Basel and EuroWings to Stuttgart, which have not demanded subsidies like Ryanair.

Marinić concluded the conditions set forth by Ryanair are unacceptable to Osijek Airport, whose service is said to terminate on March 26, 2017.
