It was an extremely popular route, connecting eastern Croatia to London all year, but less than a year after commencing a service from London Stansted to Osijek, Ryanair confimed on January 26, 2017 that the route has been cancelled.
After a few days of uncertainty, it would appear that the news is sadly true – the popular route connecting Osijek to London Stansted no more, with Ryanair confirming on Twitter yesterday that the route has been cancelled.
The route, which has been extremely popular, as we as the first 12-month budget airline service to the city, made the news last week, when local portal Osijek 031 reported the Osijek Airport director claiming that Ryanair had terminated operations, although he was waiting for official word.
TCN was a little surprised to receive an email from the Ryanair Sales and Marketing Eastern Mediterranean department (good to see you are reading!) after that report, with a one line statement:
“We have yet to finalise our Osijek 2017 summer schedule.”
It would appear that Ryanair has now finalised its Osijek 2017 summer schedule – no flights at all – as the airline replied to a customer query on flights to Osijek yesterday, receiving a short reply from the official Ryanair Twitter account:
“Hi Rob. This route has bee cancelled. Thanks JS.”
UPDATE
Following publication, TCN received an email from Ryanair:

“Our Osijek-London Stansted route will not operate this summer for commercial reasons, as we continually review each of our 1,800 routes.”
