The Lungomare in Pula often gets overlooked by first time visitors to Pula and also by those looking for a nice beach near the centre of the 3,000 years old and biggest city of the Istrian peninsula. The over 4 km long promenade between pine woods and the sea is easily accessible by public transport and by car (you can drive the whole 4km by car), and from the centre of town it takes about an hour to reach by foot.
The beaches along the Lungomare are also perfect for everyone making a trip to Pula from any of the other tourist destinations of the peninsula. With some luck, you can park right above one of the most beautiful beaches of the Southern part of Istria, the Gortanova Uvala Beach, here you can take a break before you head back. Three beaches along the Lungomare made it to the list of the Top 10 beaches in Pula chosen by locals. Besides the mentioned Gortanova Uvala, Ferijalni and Valkane were listed.
You can begin your walk along the Lungomare at the Valkane Beach and walk the 4km to Valsaline and have a swim or sunbath anywhere along the way. Refreshments are available at a few beach bars along the Lungomare. When you reach Valsaline, there’s a new adrenaline park.
