October 19, 2018 – Continuing our look at the Mediterranean as it once was through videos of yesteryear, a visit to Istria of yesteryear – Pula in 1961.
The largest settlement on the Istrian peninsula, Pula’s history dates back thousands of years. Its most famous building, of course, is Pula Arena, the sixth largest Roman amphitheatre in the world, which these days is used for a host of fascinating events, from ice hockey and rock concerts, to gladiator fights and film festivals.
The Pula Film Festival is the oldest in Croatia, dating back to 1954, and today’s video journey back in time provides a lovely snapshot of life in Pula during the 1961 Pula Film Festival.
