Split, Dubrovnik, Imotski, Pašman and Metković get special recognition for their efforts in tourism
The Tourist Board Split took away the special award ‘Simply the Best’ for innovative and creative development of new content and activities in tourism that positioned the city of Split as the leading tourist destination this year, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on November 16, 2017.
Tourist Board director Alijana Vukšić was presented with the award at a ceremony held in Hotel Park in Split, which is currently hosting ‘Tourism Market PUT 2017’, a symposium of tourism professionals, providers of services in tourism and representatives of travel agencies and the hotel industry.
The ‘Simply the Best’ awards were given in six separate categories after a scoring process, carried out in collaboration with tourism professionals and secret guests who ranked the 250 nominated businesses.
Other award winners from Dalmatia include the Good Food Festival in Dubrovnik, Škraping at Pašman, the Narona Museum in Metković, and the Tourist Board Imotski for their projects at the Red Lake that contributed to the promotion of Imotski and Croatia worldwide.
Joško Stella, the director of the Tourist Board of Split-Dalmatia County, greeted the audience and stated the symposium was a welcome chance to present other colleagues working in tourism with the latest tourist products in Dalmatia, as well as its attractions that are equally interesting both to domestic and foreign guests.
“A business event of this sort, held in late autumn, is one of the indicators of the efforts that the city of Split is putting into prolonging the tourist season, while the award won by the Tourist Board can be seen as recognition of the immense efforts, dedication and work invested in the tourism sector in Split to achieve its current success”, said Alijana Vukšić.
