In the Split area, there has been the termination of the catamaran lines 9604 Ubli-Vela Luka-Split-Hvar, 9608 Korcula-Hvar-Split, 9603 Jelsa-Bol-Split and 631 Split-Supetar.
For all traffic, due to gusts of strong wind and snow, there are closed roads: A1 between Sveti Rok and Posedarje; A6 Rijeka-Zagreb between Kikovica and Delnica; A7 between Sveti Kuzam and Šmrika; Adriatic highway (DC8) between Bakra and Svete Marije Magdalene; DC1 between Udbina and Gračac; DC54 Maslenica-Zaton Obrovački, Pag bridge, and Krk bridge, reported the Croatian Automobile Club (HAK) this morning.
Because of the wind, a section of the motorway A6 is open only for personal vehicles: Kikovica-Rijeka (Orehovica) between Čavle and Kikovica, Rijeka bypass between Skurinje and Orehovica; fast road Solin-Klis and DC25 Gospic-Karlobag.
Due to snow and the strong wind that carries the snow, a foggy coating is created that reduces visibility which is dangerous for road trucks (with or without trailers) from the direction of the interior towards Istria, Rijeka, Primorje, Dalmatia and vice versa. All the parking lots and rest stops along the road are open for vehicles, but drivers are advised to not hit the road until they have information that the roads are open and passable.
Snow hinders traffic in Lika, Gorski Kotar, central and northwestern Croatia, and Slavonia. Because of the low temperatures it is possible there will be ice. The strong winds are hindering traffic in Istria, along the Croatian coast and in Dalmatia. Drivers are warned to adjust their speed and driving style to the road conditions, and to not get on the road without winter equipment. If possible, delay your trip.
