TripAdvisor and Airbnb recently revealed global travel trends for 2018, featuring cities with predicted growth in demand compared with last year
The Croatian tourism industry saw a record-breaking year, with every single destination recording significant increases in the number of visitors and overnight stays compared with 2016. The trend is seemingly about to continue, according to two leading travel and booking websites who revealed their predictions for travel trends in 2018.
TripAdvisor, the leading travel website company providing hotel and restaurant reviews, featured Rovinj on their top 10 list of destinations on the rise. The Istrian gem ranks 8th on the list, with the Old Town, Punta Corrente and the Church of St. Euphemia highlighted as must-see locations.

Airbnb, one of the world’s leading booking sites, featured Zagreb on their list of top 20 trending destinations in the world for 2018.
The booking platform predicts a considerable increase in bookings for the Croatian capital compared with last year: a whopping 175%, scoring Zagreb the 18th place on the Top 20 list. Here’s the full list, followed with predicted growth rate for every listed destination:
