Need to cool off? Take a look these refreshing photos of the underwater park in Pula, Verudela!
We’ve recently written about the underwater beauty of Mljet island here. Now, we’re taking you to the underwater park in Verudela, a district of Pula located about 15 minutes south from the centre. The park extends over 200 square metres and is approximately 4 metres deep.
Nestling on the seabed off the coast of Veruda peninsula, the underwater park Verudela offers a rare opportunity to take a stroll along the underwater promenade, sit on a bench, observe sea urchins, shrimps and different types of fish in their natural habitat. You can even try and ride a bike underwater! There is also a sunken ship, which you can visit and feed fish while you’re there.
SCUBA certification is not required and all the participants will need to put on is a specially designed helmet. The diving helmet weighs 40 kilograms in order to keep the visitors attached to the seabed. A rubber tube connects the helmet to a bank of oxygen tanks, which allows normal breathing and movement.
A maximum of 5 visitors can stay underwater at the same time together with a diving guide, who will provide you with all the necessary information and instructions.
