Zagreb Advent, Varazdin, Trakoscan Castle – Croatian Winter Wonderland (VIDEO)

The highly successful Advent in Zagreb may be over, but the memories linger on, as Tolt Productions publish their memories of Christmas in Zagreb on January 25, 2017, with a little Varazdin County chaser. 

Do foreigners really travel to Croatia for Christmas? 

Apparently so.

Those who know me well are aware of the fact that I like unusual travel destinations. Well, this time, the destination was not really unusual. Croatia is actually pretty popular since 12.4 million tourists have been there in 2013. No really, nothing special about going to Croatia, except I went there in December while most people go there in the summer. I was invited by the Tourism board to experience the Advent celebrations in Zagreb, the capital city. So yachts, beaches and music festivals were actually replaced by trams, christmas markets and jingle bells songs ? I was not expecting much and this city break turned out to be a very nice experience!
