The Airport could be facing a penalty, EX-YU Aviation reports
After performing an investigation into the case of a Croatian Airlines aeroplane landing in Rome because it was unable to return to Franjo Tudjman Airport due to lack of staff, the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency has found the airport responsible for the mishap in an official statement published on CCAA website yesterday, June 21.
Even though the official statement made no further comment on the matter, EX-YU Aviation reports that the Airport could be facing a fine.
“On the basis of the established facts, it is without a doubt that Zagreb Airport did not respond clearly to Croatia Airlines’ landing request and was unable to handle the aircraft, passengers and baggage while being open, which is contrary to Article 39 paragraph 1 and paragraph 4 of the Air Traffic Act.”
The Airport has recently downgraded its rescue and fire fighting service (RFSS) category ranking from six to four from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., which the CCAA found to be a breach of contract.
