Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik Airports have continued with great results in October.

Even though the busy peak summer season is long gone, Croatia’s top destinations have shown no signs of slowing down. Namely, Zagreb, Split, and Dubrovnik airports have achieved another record month!

For starters, the airport in the capital city saw its busiest October ever, welcoming 318,074 passengers last month which is a 6.9% increase from 2017. Aircraft operations also grew in October, recording a growth of  2.7% to 3.970, reports Ex Yu Aviation on November 6, 2018.

Zagreb Airport welcomed 2,887, 370 passengers from January to October this year, which is an 8.4% increase on last year. This means that there have been an additional 223,702 passengers in 2018 compared to 2017. Zagreb Airport should also handle around 3.4 million passengers this year.

Ex Yu Aviation also reported on November 5, 2018, that Split Airport continued to record stellar results in 2018, and October was no different. The famous Dalmatian airport welcomed 225,170 passengers in October, which is an increase of 13.6% from 2017. The airport also achieved its ultimate goal for this year and welcomed 3 million passengers through their doors for the first time ever. The 3 millionth passenger was recorded on October 26, 2018.

From January to October this year, Split handled 3,024,926 passengers, which is a 10.3% increase from 2017. Another 150,000 passengers are expected in 2018, said Split Airport General Manager Lukša Novak.

Dubrovnik Airport, however, did even better than Split, and welcomed 244,187 passengers in October, which is a 12% increase on October 2017! From January to October, Dubrovnik Airport welcomed 2,489,558 passengers, which is up 10% from 2017.

Because the airport will continue with its runway overhaul this week, traffic should slow down at Dubrovnik airport – and recall, many airlines have also announced fewer flights to the airport for this winter.
