Two Fires Break Out in Konavle

Just as the fire in Dubrovnik-Primorje is brought under control, Konavle falls victim to the flames…

As DuList reports on the 6th of July, 2017, two fires broke out in the Konavle area on Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night.

According to a report by the County Center (112) Dubrovnik, on Wednesday, the 5th of July, attention was drawn to an open wild fire in Duba Konavoska at around 15:00. According to information provided by JVP Konavle, the fire came under control at approximately 18:00, an eye is still being kept on it. 

Unfortunately, that was not the end of the story for the otherwise wooded area of Konavle which is prone to such outbeaks as nine minutes after midnight, on the 6th of July, 2017, a fire report was received in the area of Komaji, Konavle Municipality. According to information, JVP Konavle got the fire under control at 00:45, and was put out completely one hour after midnight. About 150 m2 of low-lying vegetation and rubble has been burned.
