November 10, 2023 – After the prestigious Lonely Planet accolade, recently ranking Croatia among the top ten countries worth visiting next year, another piece of exciting news is reported by yet another established British media specializing in travel. Wanderlust, one of the most reputable and long-lasting travel magazines globally, unveiled its readership voted Croatia as the most desirable country in Europe at the grand ceremony of the Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards.

“As Wanderlust wrote, “Croatia has been crawling its way up the Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards rankings for the past few years, and now it’s deservedly snapped up Gold position. This jewel of the Adriatic is best known to travelers for its coastal stars, including the historic city of Dubrovnik – last year’s Most Desirable City in Europe winner. But beyond the island and shoreline’s striking scenery, there are plenty of cultural discoveries and adventures to soak up, both by the sea and further inland. From Pula’s extraordinary Roman ruins and Zagreb’s unusual museums to the wild waterfalls of Plitvice and mountain landscapes of Risnjak, authentic Croatia awaits.”, writes Wanderlust.

„This is a big seal of approval and an excellent achievement of Croatian tourism. Croatia was recognized as a tourism champion alongside the world’s most renowned tourism destinations such as Greece, Spain, France, and Italy, which makes this success even greater. Wanderlust Awards and recognitions are a tribute to the most desirable destinations, tour operators,  and airline carriers worldwide. Croatia and Croatian destinations being consistently listed among the best confirms the status and reputation of Croatian tourism in the global framework“, says Kristjan Staničić, Director, Croatian National Tourist Board

Wanderlust depicted Croatia as a jewel of the Adriatic ordained by the scenic island landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and the wonderful historic city of Dubrovnik, which won the title of the most desirable European city last year.

Adding to that, the Wanderlust Awards ceremony was held on 7 November at the British Museum, during the World Travel Market (WTM), the biggest travel and tourism event in the world. All destinations shortlisted according to categories can be found on the link.
