October the 1st, 2026 – Zagreb Mayor Tomislav Tomašević has stated that the workers who went on strike from both ZET and Zagreb Holding won’t be paid.
After three days, the strike by ZET and Zagreb Holding workers has ended. Trams and buses are running again, and Čistoća has resumed regular waste collection. The County Court in Zagreb today declared the strikes at ZET and Holding illegal and ordered them to stop.
The unions then suspended the strike and announced they would appeal the rulings. Index reports that ZET has announced that from today onwards, all tram and bus traffic will again run according to the regular timetable.

A ZET union lawyer has stated that he received two drastically different rulings. Municipal workers and ZET workers have now formally ended the strike after the court banned the ZET workers’ strike and the municipal workers’ strike.
