If I set this as a reference point for Cabernet Franc: https://vinopija.com/2016/04/29/chateau-de-coulaine-chinon-2012/
and continue to move towards the Poreč area in the next 10 years, what is the value of potential energy?
Cabernet Franc 2006 is the first independent CF from Legović family. Ideal 12.8% for a wine in full health and excellent condition ten years later. Mint-herbal-floral scents. Spices in the nose and palate. Wine experience of floury earth tannins. Energetic.
Cabernet Franc 2007 is more meaty, leathery experience, but in a good way. This light tricky farm yard goes naturally with earthy character and over ripeness fruitiness I almost feel sorry when it disappears after a while. But, then the spice heart begins to pulse with limber tannins removing the body from the palate in ethereal splendour.
Remarkable on the palate, rich in context. Not in fullness, not quantity but quality of extract. Persistent, in full form, it pours its aroma in the mouth and remains.
Cabernet Franc 2009 is significantly more concentrated. Still quite “closed” in comparison. Firm and quite monolith wine, which sounds better than rigid, actually stony. Mineral and slightly earthy tannin. It was open for days without losing strength, same as the older harvests.
