Complex scent, strong body, pronounced acidity and lingering taste is all part of the Teran 2013 by the Benvenuti family from Kaldir near Motovun in Istria. It is four years old, but still young, wrote the reviewers of Wine Stars and recommended it with fatty meat dishes. They gave it three stars and Wine of the Week title, costing 141,40 kunas in Vivat Fine Wines.

Just a shade below the recognition was the Portuguese red Periquita Tinto 2015 by the José Maria da Fonseca winery. It has a lively colour, pleasant sense and friendly price: 39,98 kunas in Vrutak. Competing were also the semi-sweet Traminer 2013 Principovac (139,99 kunas in the Ilok Cellars stores) and Agris Malvazija 2016 (Miva, 59 kunas).
