It has been a decade since I have been involved in real estate on Hvar.
Those were hairy days, with prices often doubling in weeks, and unscrupulous lawyers fuelling the frenzy with their Dalmatian legal verdicts on dodgy papers with the legendary phrase ‘Nema Problema’. Which inevitably meant that a BIG problem with papers was just around the corner…
The golden years of 2003 and 2004 in Hvar real estate soon gave way to the global crash and prices fell. On the plus side, there was some regulation to the market, Croatia joined the EU, lawyers were called to account beyond the Nema Problema assurances, and paperwork improved through resales.
But things have been relatively quiet on the real estate front since then. Is that about to change? Having appeared on a couple of real estate shows promoting Hvar property ten years ago, the stand out programme back then wa called A Place in the Sun. And ten years later…
A Place in the Sun arrives next week to film an episode on Hvar real estate. We are delighted to accept an invitiation to appear on the show, and it will be interesting to film Hvar real estate a decade on. There is a good story to tell these days, especially about central Hvar.
Is Hvar real estate about to return to the investment spheres of international investors?
