July the 10th, 2023 – The gorgeous island of Hvar and Croatia as a whole have performed excellently on a recently published European holiday popularity ranking.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the most popular European destination among tourists from all over the world, according to a new survey, is the stunning Santorini in nearby Greece. In second place comes the Balearic island of Ibiza, and the bronze is taken by the Canaries, more precisely Tenerife. Croatia and Hvar, however, have both ranked high, coming 12th out of 185 countries.
Google’s data reveals all
This information was come by owing to having studied Google’s data over the last 12 months in 185 countries, writes the Daily Mail, as reported by Pun kufer. Santorini tops the list signed by the British travel agency CV Villas and is the most popular European destination in 47 countries worldwide, including the USA, Finland, Colombia, Bolivia, India, Australia and New Zealand.
Santorini is famous as one of the most beautiful and picturesque Greek islands, and it is located in the Aegean Sea, 200 kilometres from the nearest mainland. It’s known for its blue and white architecture, dramatic cliffs and beautiful sea. The most popular place on the island is Oia, with its blue domes and white houses, and those who want more peace and less crowds head to the less popular parts of the island.
Ibiza continues to do very well
Residents of 29 countries expressed their desire a holiday in the beautiful Balearic island of Ibiza: including people from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Kenya, Mexico, Jamaica and Portugal.
Tenerife as a winter destination
Third-placed Tenerife is the top destination for a winter holiday with the highest average maximum temperature in the Northern hemisphere’s colder months, warming up the bones with its approximate temperatures of twenty degrees Celsius. It is the most popular Spanish destination for 12 European countries, including Spain, the UK, Germany and Belgium.
Italy and Greece
Rounding out the top five are the Italian island of Sicily in fourth place and Corfu in Greece in fifth place, with Greece continuing its winning streak with beautiful destinations such as Kos, Mykonos and Crete among Europe’s most sought-after holiday destinations.
What does Hvar have to offer?
