August 7, 2023 – Construction of one of the most modern and largest parks in Croatia was officially opened on Monday in Južno Naselje, at the very entrance to the city center of Samobor.
As Poslovni writes, the works are worth around 1.5 million euros and will be done on a building plot of 7,500 square meters. The project includes the construction of 285 meters of new footpaths 285, a children’s playground, and an outdoor fitness zone.
By laying the time capsule, the beginning of the works was symbolically marked by the mayor of Samobor, Petra Škrobot.
“We worked with special attention on the project because we wanted the park to be special, so a unique playground modeled after Samobor’s Old Town will be placed in the central part,” said the mayor.
She emphasized that when creating the project documentation, they kept all groups of citizens in mind, especially pensioners and children with disabilities.
“When designing the park, we included children from the Children’s Forum, who presented us with their wishes, which we adapted to the project,” Škrobot pointed out.
The park will be divided into several zones: children’s playground, fitness, and lounge zones with benches. New public LED lighting will be installed along the footpaths.
The park will be richly landscaped with perennials and flowering plants, while new rows of trees will be planted on the lawns.
With the construction of the park on the currently neglected surface between Ivan Perkovac, Svetonedeljska, and Mirnovečka streets, the citizens of Samobor will get a long-awaited space for play, recreation, rest, and socialization for all generations.
“The works start today, and the deadline for construction is 120 days,” announced Luka Harandi, the works manager from the Vodogradnja company.
The designer of the project, which is financed from the Samobor city budget, is the company Triptih from Pula, the contractor is Vodogradnja from Varaždin, and the work is supervised by the company Investinženjering from Zagreb.
