February the 9th, 2024 – The gorgeous Croatian Punta rata beach in Brela has been listed as being among the world’s most beautiful by Lonely Planet.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, every year, the well respected Lonely Planet global travel guide awards prestigious awards to destinations around the world. These choices are the result of a selection created based on the suggestions of numerous expert authors of this guide.
This year, one Croatian beach was ranked among the twenty best beaches in the entire world for this year, writes B92.
Lonely Planet presented its “20 best beaches” list in the world recently, and the dazzling list includes popular destinations such as Ipanema in Rio de Janeiro and Ao Maya in Thailand, as well as secluded paradises such as Mnemba Island in Zanzibar. It is interesting to note that among the twenty most beautiful beaches there is also one Croatian pearl – the Croatian Punta rata beach.
This Brela beauty was surprisingly the only Croatian beach to make Lonely Planet’s list this year. Located on the glorious Dalmatian coast. The Croatian Punta rata beach stretches 400 metres around a cape protected by a nature reserve in a truly magical place. This is where pine forests meet the cold, untouched Adriatic Sea, according to Lonely Planet.
On this beach, dense and fragrant pine trees provide shade, and the deep blue sea offers ideal temperatures above 20 degrees Celsius from April to October for swimming, diving, kayaking or paddle boarding.
Punta rata is often recognisable by the now famous rock there which juts up out of the sea, known as the “Brela stone or Brela rock”. Punta rata is a pebbly sand beach and is lapped by the crystal clear sea, which provides visitors with an ideal place to relax and enjoy this fairy tale environment.
