April the 23rd, 2024 – Dubrovnik Airport parking has been declared the “most expensive in Europe” according to Spin Casino’s analysis.
British airports are usually cited as being the most expensive for parking (and an array of other services) in Europe, but it seems that the airport serving the Pearl of the Adriatic has found its place at the top of the list of an analysis of 300 airports.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, as millions of people suffer financially to some extent or another amid the current global economic crisis, airport parking costs have risen by up to 260% as a result of inflation. Dubrovnik Airport in the extreme south of Croatia has been named the most expensive airport for parking in all of Europe.
Research by Spin Casino analysed the world’s 300 most popular airports, ranking them according to the most expensive weekly parking rates, in proportion to the average weekly wage in each respective country.
When compared to the other airports located across Europe on the list, residents flying from Dubrovnik Airport spend 74.77% of their weekly salary for a week’s parking at this airport – at a cost of 252.11 USD (233.62 EUR).
The cost of Dubrovnik Airport parking was (rather amusingly) followed by Nikola Tesla Airport in the Serbian capital of Belgrade, Serbia, where residents spend 50.18% of their weekly wages for a week’s parking at that airport. Among the ten most expensive in Europe were the International Airport in Tbilisi, Georgia (which is arguably not really in Europe at all, given that it is Eurasian) and of course, Gatwick Airport in the United Kingdom.
According to Spin Casino’s analysis, here are the 10 most expensive airports in Europe based on their parking rates in proportion to the average weekly salary of each country:
Dubrovnik Airport, Croatia (252.11 USD)
