Croatia Airlines Getting Ultra Modern Aircraft

June the 13th, 2024 – Croatia Airlines is set to get its hands (or rather wings) on a new, ultra modern aircraft. Here’s what it will have on offer for its customers.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, imagine flying thousands of feet above the ground, but feeling like you’re in your living room? Croatia Airlines (CA) passengers should have such an experience as early as next month, as the latest A220 model is arriving in the fleet from the Airbus factory in Canada. This aircraft is a modern plane that is up to 50 percent less noisy and consumes as much as 25 percent less fuel.I offers passengers far greater comfort than older models.

Croatia Airlines confirmed for Večernji list that the aircraft is currently in the final stage of production. Delivery is expected in July, and the start of commercial use immediately after that, i.e. immediately after all the necessary procedures are settled. The first commercial flight will be to Frankfurt, and the first new Croatia Airlines aircraft will have the registration number 9A-CAE. Aptly, it will be named “Zagreb”.

Thw new modern Croatia Airlines aircraft an A220-300 model with a capacity of 148 seats, which most often comes in a configuration of 2+3 seats per row with an aisle in the middle. The aforementioned type of aircraft makes up the majority of the order, and the airline will also have a slightly smaller A220-100 delivered, which has 127 seats. All of these planes, in cooperation with Panasonic Avionics, will be equipped with the latest Ku-band antenna, which will enable passengers to access fast wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) so that they can surf, text or watch movies during the flight. Each seat will have holders for mobile phones and tablets, as well as USB-A and USB-C sockets for charging.

The arrival of the first new Croatia Airlines aircraft is the beginning of the previously announced replacement, modernisation, and at the same time unification of the domestic carrier’s fleet. It will receive a total of 15 new aircraft over the course of the next three years, which will see the Airbus models 319 and 320, which are more than 20 years old on average, finally retire.
