November the 8th, 2026 – The now famous Croatian promotional video starring the one and only John Malkovich has won a prestigious award.

The now globally known video “Croatia – I Hear It’s Beautiful” was awarded at the City Nation Place Awards in London. Croatian islands won gold and Dubrovnik also took home silver at the Wanderlust awards ceremony. 24sata reports some excellent news for Croatian tourism is coming from London, where the prestigious City Nation Place Awards ceremony was held, at which the promotional video “CROATIA – I hear it’s beautiful”, starring John Malkovich, won the main award in the Best communication strategy: tourism category.

This is another in a series of awards won by the promotional video of Croatian tourism, and this time it is an award given by City Nation Place (CNP), a global platform and professional organisation dedicated to the branding and marketing of cities, regions and countries.

“This year we’ve made a significant step forward in presenting Croatia on the international scene, and we are particularly proud of the new promotional film that presented the country from a different, fresh and authentic perspective, as well as the entire campaign ‘Croatia I hear it’s beautiful’. At a time when it seems that almost everything has already been seen and presented, it is important to continuously find new, innovative ways of communication and promotion, create different stories and highlight what makes Croatia special,” said Tonči Glavina, Minister of Tourism and Sport.

Croatia’s popularity on a global level is also confirmed by the prestigious Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards, which are awarded by the respected British travel magazine Wanderlust on the basis of votes from its readers. Precisely the travel lovers and readers of this popular magazine declared Croatian islands the most desirable in the European regions category (gold award), while Dubrovnik was declared the second most desirable European city (silver award)

“We are extremely pleased with this international recognition, which confirm that Croatia has a strong and recognisable tourism story. It is particularly valuable that Croatian islands and Dubrovnik were recognised by the readers and travel lovers themselves. More than 250,000 Wanderlust readers took part in the voting and this year broke the record with as many as 8.2 million votes. The success of the promotional video of Croatian tourism shows that creative, authentic and contemporary communication can further strengthen the visibility of our country on international markets. Our goal is to present Croatia as a diverse and high-quality destination throughout the year, highlighting not only its best-known strengths but also the richness of local experiences, culture, local food and way of life,” said Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian National Tourist Board.

Gold for the Croatian islands confirms the allure of Croatia’s island diversity, preserved nature and authentic experiences, while the award for Dubrovnik additionally confirms its international recognisability and rich cultural-historical heritage. Let us add that among others the presentation of the Wanderlust awards was also graced by the presence of Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.
