November the 7th, 2026 – Tourism in Central Dalmatia has seen an increase in 2026, with Polish visitors in particular topping the charts as far as visitor numbers go.

“We’re now entering the final stretch of another tourist year, a period in which we’re summing up the results, but at the same time already directing our gaze towards what still awaits us. Although the tourist rhythm is gradually changing, Central Dalmatia continues to do well through all sorts of events and experiences that give people a reason to visit the area outside the main summer months.

The Advent period is on its way, which brings another new opportunity to present Dalmatian cities, places, islands, as well as the Dalmatian hinterland, their traditions, food scene and special festive atmosphere,” stated the director of the Tourist Board of Split-Dalmatia County Ivana Vladović.

18.6 million overnight stays in central dalmatia

Dalmatinski portal also reports that this year’s statistical data also confirms that the effort has well and truly paid off. In the first ten months of this year, Split-Dalmatia County, according to data from the eVisitor system, was visited by 3.9 million guests. They achieved 18.6 million overnight stays in commercial accommodation, which is 1% more arrivals and 0.5% more overnight stays than in the same period last year. The largest number of overnight stays was achieved by guests from all of Europe, including Poland, Germany, elsewhere across Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Great Britain and the Czech Republic.

“We’re now intensively preparing for 2027, which will be particularly significant for the county because it will carry the title of European Region of Gastronomy. This is fantastic recognition, but also an opportunity to present even more strongly the richness of our gastronomic heritage, local producers, traditional dishes and the people who preserve and pass on the culinary heritage of Central Dalmatia. We’re already working on new promotional campaigns, projects and activities with which we will bring this title closer to domestic and international guests and additionally connect the local food scene with our cultural identity, way of life and year-round tourist offer,” Vladović added.

dalmatia is still aiming to attract visitors throughout november

This November, this region of Dalmatia is also offering an entire series of interesting events that enable visitors to get to know its food, cultural and traditional heritage. In Omiš, the international gastronomic festival Grand Gourmet is being held, in Dugopolje the International Honey Fair Dalmatina, and Kaštela through the manifestation Zinfest – Fešta o’ Crljenka present the rich wine tradition and connection with one of the most famous world varieties.

Lovers of active holidays can participate in or follow the State Championship in rafting on the Cetina and the Hileja Marina Trail, while in Gornji Dolac at the end of the month the popular Christmas Village opens. The Split offer is additionally enriched by Štorije o’ spize, a manifestation dedicated to Dalmatian gastronomy, local producers and traditional flavours, and the Dalmatia Film Festival, which gathers lovers of domestic and international film production.

dalmatia beyond the summer season

Precisely the connection of different experiences and values of the region is one of the directions in which the Tourist Board intends to continue developing and presenting Central Dalmatia. Gastronomy, culture, natural heritage, active holidays, nautical tourism, islands and the Dalmatian hinterland form a diverse offer that goes beyond seasonal frameworks.

“In the period now just behind us, we continued to present Central Dalmatia on important international markets and business events, talk with partners and tourism professionals and monitor the changes that shape global tourist demand. Such meetings are important for strengthening how recognised we are, but also for the timely recognition of new opportunities. I believe that with joint work we will turn the title of European Region of Gastronomy into a strong opportunity for the promotion of Central Dalmatia, its people, tradition and quality offer,” director Vladović said, wishing all stakeholders in tourism a successful end of the year and a lot of creativity and enthusiasm in the preparation for the next tourist year.
