From 67 employees in 2014 to 125 today.
Energia Naturalis is a local company that is spreading its business operations outside of the country. Director and owner Pavlo Vujnovec spoke about its most important project in the port of Ploče – the terminal for storing and reloading of oil derivatives, the possible takeover of Kutina-based Petrokemija and other topics, reports Večernji List on May 9, 2016.
Energija Naturalis, he said, is one of the fastest growing businesses in the region. “Besides our energy component, together with the port, railway and storages, we are becoming a very serious vertically integrated system, a unique one in the country and in the region”, said Vujnovec.
Asked about the results for the last year, he said that the total income of the group had grown 25 percent compared to 2014 and that a significant income was achieved by their companies doing business in the foreign markets. “We are a domestic company with the fastest growth. We have done serious preparations for the beginning of an intensive investment cycle – with the purpose to diversify our operations. We are intensively building our position on Hungarian, Slovenian, Bosnia and Serbian markets, for which we have long-term plans regarding all our business segments”, Vujnovec said. The company had 67 employees in 2014, while today it has 125 and keeps hiring people.
As for the investment in the Port of Ploče, he reiterated that PPD, one of their companies, has signed an agreement with VTTI, one of the biggest operators and owners of oil storage terminals in the world, and the aim is to launch a joint investment in the future and develop a terminal for storage and reloading in Ploče. VTTI will provide the expert, technical and operational support in the development of the terminal; it will bring the direct foreign investors to Croatia; and participate in turning the Port of Ploče into an international hub for the export-import activities in the Adriatic area.
Referring to the ongoing discussion about the LNG terminal in Krk, he said that LNG terminal as a project contributes to diversification of the supply routes and the security of supply, but it also brings a geostrategic advantage to Croatia in the region because it is oriented towards the region and provides it with the energy security and stability.
Asked about PPD’s plans with Petrokemija and the offer for its acquisition, he said “we believe in Petrokemija and we recognize that in the synergic relationship between PPD and Petrokemija there is a development potential… Petrokemija will have difficulty to realizing its potential without a strategic partner. Their debts are big and the financial stabilization is necessary”, he concluded.
