Want to clown around this Wednesday? Judino Drvo is where you’ll want to be, 21h is the time, and circus films are the theme.
The 27th “Circus Wednesday” (a cycle of circus themed films) brings Brazilian film O Palhaço to Judino Drvo. The film tells the story of Benjamin and Valdemar, father and son known as the clowns Pangaré and Puro Sangue. They make their living traveling the country with Circus Hope, without a fixed address, no neighbors, and no ID. But is that life enough?
The film won numerous awards at festivals in South America including ABC Cinematography Award, ACIE Awards, BRAFFTV, Cinema Brazil Grand Prize, Huelva Latin American Film Festival, Paulinia Film Festival, Premio Contigo Cinema, SESC Film Festival, Sao Paulo Association of Art Critics Award, and Tiburon International Film Festival – all in the categories of best film, best director, best leading actor, and the list goes on.
As is every “Circus Wednesday”, admission and popcorn are free!
This project is made possible by ROOM 100 (Pozitivna sila) and the Small performance scene CIC, with the support of Judino Drvo and Mediterranean Film Festival Split.
The work of experimental performing company ROOM 100 is supported by the Zaklade Kultura nova (Foundation New Culture).
Wednesday, May 25th @ 21h. Judino Drvo is located on Kopilica 24.
