Split collective Underground Control returns this year to announce the third season of the beloved parties on the island of love, Barbarinac. Driven by the excellent reactions of local and foreign visitors, the team at Underground Control prepared especially for this summer, crafting several dance parties with carefully selected contractors with an already proven sound-system
Opening the season on Friday, July 1, as a “Road to Movement” festival party, the audience will be presented with Roland Rocha (DJ Rolando), a techno-purist best known as the Aztec Mystic. Detroit born and raised, Rocha is considered to be the third generation of techno artists resulting from the city that gave the world music such as Prince and MJ.
The show will start promptly at 23h, and tickets are being sold for 100 kuna (ticket price includes a trip by boat to/from Split Stinica – port Plovput). For those of you interested in a pre and after party as well, you can head aboard the St.Damian boat, leaving the riva at 23h; this price is 130 kuna and includes a ticket for Barbarinac. Another perk? If you were at the Prodigy concert in Zadar, you’ll get a 40% discount on tickets for the island party!
The Underground Control team has announced a long and hot summer full of music, bringing in Berlin legend DJ Ian Pooley to the island on July 23.
This year, the organizers are going to start a new tradition with day parties transitioning into the night, with the first “Sunset to Sunrise” party being held on August 6 with Kevin Yost , Asad Rizvi and Fred Everything.
On Saturday August 27, American instrumentalist Lonely Boy will have a live performance.
If weather conditions permit, the closing of the season will be scheduled for early September.
