The Closing Night for One of the Best Parties Just Outside of Split: Barbarinac, the Island of Love

Daniela Rogulj

The successful 3rd season for the popular dance party on the island of love, Barbarinac, slowly comes to an end this evening. Located on a small island just off the coast of Kaštela, last week’s party hosted Miro and Luka Labura from Underground Control keeping the dance floor in full rhythm until the early morning hours – and tonight the groove will continue on with Joshua Heath aka Lonely Boy from Los Angeles.

Primetime live-artist Lonely Boy arrives to the “Island of Love” after shows in New York, Miami and Majorca, and you can be sure dancing until the first rays of the sunlight is scheduled for tonight.

A trained bassist, Lonely Boy fell in love with dance music and earned a Master’s Degree in jazz focused on electronic music. Because the American west coast is traditionally associated with house music, his talent was quickly recognized by the powerful Californian label Culprit and Salted Music, through which he gained a reputation on the world-stage of underground music. The modern age of the internet enabled him to perform across America, and his music quickly grew to the global stage. Lonely Boy caught the ear of British Futureboogie Records, and he has since played several hit festivals such as Garden Festival and Electric Elephant in Tisno.

This year, Lonely Boy was honored to become part of Desert Hearts festival and his studio work will soon materialize in the new editions of the influential French label Kitsune.

With his cheerful and extroverted performances, Lonely Boy’s djing combines synthesizers and bass guitar, and he has even announced new songs that have yet to see light of day for his first visit to this dancing island.

Lonely Boy will close the third season dance party on Barbarinac with the help of DJ Miro and Antonijo Milina, a recognized multi-instrumentalist and former member of several bands from Split.

The ticket price is 100kn with return to and from the island included.

The event begins at 23h and will end in the early morning hours with a boat ride back to the dock at Stinice.
